Studio Mini Recap
Studio Minis on 2/20/21 were a huge success, and its safe to say everyone had a BLAST! Especially me! It is the middle of winter here and when the weather is unpredictable (hello Alabama), you can’t rely on pretty (or comfortable) outdoor sessions. I wanted to be able to offer a beautiful indoor option for clients where they don’t have to subject their littles to the cold temps!
I absolutely loved the variety of each individual session and how all the little details brought everything to life! Having a fresh white backdrop opens the door for literally endless possibilities!
I have some exciting news to share in a bit, but first let’s review how each session went!
We were able to use the beautiful venue at Asthetik Bham in downtown Birmingham, AL. This gave us several different options which catered to each family or client in the specific ways they desired. I don’t like to waste any time at all, so we were able to utilize every second of each 15 minute session. Some families are skeptical of mini sessions, but I can assure you, littles don’t last much longer than 15-30 minutes max! Typically, on average I can snap about 200+ photos in 15 minutes. I then narrow this down to the best images for you. I’ve said it before, quality over quantity is my motto. I want you to receive the same quality images I would want to receive myself and hang on the walls throughout my own home.
Where do I start recapping??!
Cake!
It’s safe to say Alexandra, Rosalie, Elizabeth, and Franklin got their fill of cake and their personalities were shining bright!
Milestone sessions are most commonly associated with first birthdays and smash cakes, but seriously, this is perfect for any age or stage.
Fun fact that I learned, Franklin and his mommy share a birthday! I can’t imagine a sweeter gift to yourself than a full studio session to capture a mixture of casual lifestyle + family photos/mommy +me/smash cake + milestone.
The goal is to keep things relaxed, fun, and stress free so you can (for once) live in the moment and enjoy making sweet memories with your littles!
Here are some fav’s from Franklin’s mommy’s gift to herself (so fun!!)
Next up, we had a super cute personality session idea for a playroom gallery wall in this family’s new house that they are building! As a fellow twin mama, I understand you have to create a sense of individuality for your twins because so often through the rush of life with multiples, their individual personalities get meshed together. We had a blast letting Truett and Lydia play in their favorite costumes with their favorite toys! I think we got some super cute photos of their personalities!
Also, I have had such a hard time deciding between color and b+w for these. So I included both for your viewing pleasure!
Heirloom Portraiture
This is a classic and timeless way to capture beautiful headshots of your littles!
| Mommy & Me + Sibling Sessions |
One of my favorite sessions of all is a motherhood session. So many emotions captured for such a special bond. Having a white backdrop and pretty white dresses provide clean lines and a crisp yet timeless memory. I love white attire on a white backdrop because if you frame your photos, it is sure to go with any decor theme as trends change and evolve over the years. Here are a few of my favs from our studio minis!
Branding Photography
Moving on, we had some awesome small business owners update their professional branding photos!
What are branding photos you ask?
When you own a small business and are attempting to grow your business through social media or online marketing platforms, it is so important for your clients to get to know you on a personal level! Quite honestly, that is scary and puts me outside of my comfort zone! But, marketing research definitely proves this to be true and a very effective approach to growing that small biz.
If you are starting a small business and wondering why it’s not growing, here are a few questions to ask yourself:
>Are you portraying what your clients NEED + WANT to see?
>Do you have a website that accurately, succinctly, and intentionally shows viewers what it would be like to work with you and why they should hire you?
Here’s the deal, updating your photos on your website to professional, high resolution images is such an important step when trying to stand out from all the other small businesses who are trying to thrive in this crazy life!
<<<It is truly an honor to walk along side you and help play a small role in the growth of your business>>>
I loved working with Kendall Bingham Art, a local mixed media artist native to Birmingham, AL. We were able to capture some fun shots showing some of the behind the scenes details of her work! She is extremely talented and we learned we have so much in common! She is also a nurse and mom to 3 girls!
We had fun sipping mimosas (yasss), chatting, and doing work to nail her branding session!
I also worked with Breanne, owner of Brie by Bre. She designs custom charcuterie boards and boxes! Her work is so fun, detailed, beautiful, and best of all delicious! She is truly beautiful inside and out!
Exciting news to share:
I am so obsessed with how these images turned out, I have invested in my own studio backdrop which travels easily. I love the timeless light and airy feel as well as the endless possibilities that this will allow me to offer! This can be an added bonus to any in home session if so desired.
This has been such a fun and exciting venture, and I am so happy to serve others in documenting their unique story!
Thank you for following along on this journey with me!
